Axmis was founded in 2011 by Andy Pozhar in Kyiv, Ukraine. Since 2017, the company has relocated to the US and has been based in Los Angeles, specializing in residential new construction, remodeling, and tenant improvement projects.

Andy Pozhar, at the helm of Axmis Construction as its president, carries on a family tradition deeply ingrained in the construction. His grandfather began building multi-family homes years ago, igniting Andy’s passion from an early age. At 16, Andy delved into the construction world, honing his skills alongside experienced craftsmen during summer breaks at a local construction firm.

As Andy pursued his university education, he ventured into the world of real estate, leveraging his entrepreneurial spirit to kickstart his career. With a bachelor’s degree in hand, Andy set his sights on broader horizons, relocating from his small town to the bustling capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. Here, he pursued a master’s degree in financial controlling while simultaneously delving into the realm of estimation.

Armed with the necessary experience, Andy obtained appraisal licenses and opened an appraisal company. However, it happened that opening an appraisal company was only a way to return to construction truly ignited his passion. From that moment Andy started to live and breathe construction.

In 2017 Andy moved with his wife to the US and wasted no time in immersing himself in the local construction landscape. Joining ARWP, a prestigious Roofing and Waterproofing company, Andy’s talent and dedication propelled him from a junior to a lead estimator.

Through hard work, thirst for knowledge, and excellence, Andy widened his skill set as a project manager for a general contractor, managing a remodel of one of the largest and most significant architectural treasures in Pasadena, California, The Cravens Estate which was built in late 1920 and situated on “Millionaire’s Row”.

Later his commitment to continuous education led him to a role in a construction consultancy company, where he focused on owner representation and estimation services.

Armed with a general contractor and roofing contractor licenses, and various certifications including OSHA 30 safety training Andy establishing his General Construction company.
